iOS Engineer

JAM Online Courses for Kids

JAM produces online courses for kids about creative skills and careers of the future. We seek an iOS engineer with a record of shipping user-friendly apps. You will develop JAM’s iOS app—our flagship for helping kids learn new skills that will last their lifetimes. The experience you craft will help hundreds of thousands of kids to discover their passions.

Your work will have a huge impact:

  • You will own development of social features, project creation, video delivery, and app subscription management.
  • You will iterate on our iOS architecture to support rapid growth.
  • You will add support for A/B testing and conceive and deploy tests.

The Role

  • Collaborate with designers, API engineers, and our lead iOS engineer to conceptualize, build, test, and release features.
  • Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant,  functional solutions.
  • Build prototypes and rapidly iterate.
  • Keep up to date on the best practices for mobile development.
  • Write quality maintainable code that can be handed off to other developers if needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year  of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Swift.
  • Relish pixel-perfect design requirements
  • Formulate and communicate your ideas effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to autonomously lead a project
  • Collaborate effortlessly with other smart, passionate, and interesting people
  • Understand the unpredictable – but rewarding! – needs of kids and their parents.
